Mariela + Santos Highight

This edit was a gift from my good friend Victor and his lady Alicia to her brother aka the Groom/Santos.

I’m really surprised on how well this turned out, especially because this was pretty much shot by myself with a little bit of assistance from Vic.

Briana + Howard SDE

Prior to Briana and Howards wedding, I was was working with Stillmotion, in San Diego shooting for the NFL. I flew back to SF Friday morning at 8am. Ivan picked me up, we had breakfast at one of his favorite spots. We arrived about an hour early as we normally do to get some cool broll/establishing shots out side the hotel. Mike covered the guys prep at the W while Ivan and I covered the ladies prep at Parc 55.

The ceremony took place at one of my favorite wedding locations (redwood grove) in Berkeley CA. One of the fastest ceremonies, only being about 10 minutes long with good reason.. It was cold and about to pour.. After the ceremony Ivan and Mike headed to the reception to convert and start chopping the footage as I got some shots of the bridal party and bride/groom enjoying time together..

The reception took place at the Brazilian room, two thumbs down for this place. The event coordinator for the building denied us plugging into the sound board because we are not a loud into the kitchen.. I later found out that the sound board wasn’t even in the kitchen. They also wouldn’t give us a table for editing, we had to edit sitting on the ground and used a chair as our tables.. I like to try to make the best of every situation so we just put a lav on all the people that made speeches..

The after party – Ivan and I went to XYZ with Briana, Howard and their entourage.. That was our first, going to a club with our wedding clients.. We had a blast, got some great footage, guest commentary and ended up being photographers for the night ahaha.

Bollywood

I’ve shot a good amount of Indian weddings but this was the first that I edited a highlight for.. If you haven’t been to an Indian wedding they are normally really long days, with the ceremony being on average 2-4 hours along.. One thing I enjoy about Indian weddings, are the bright colors..

Sami + Melanie SDE

This past Saturday Ivan, Mike and I captured the wedding of Sami and Melanie. The ceremony took place outside at The Point Church in San Jose.. The preparation coverage started at 9am, the ceremony started at 11am. Sami and Melanie had a standard Christian ceremony that included a little bit of rain and sun.. After the ceremony Mike and Ivan began capturing/converting the ceremony footage and doing in/out points for the preparation footage.. I began to break all the gear down and captured some broll of people grabbing food and a couple family group shots.. After the family photos Ivan and I had a good amount of time to get some nice shots of Sami and Mel by them selfs and with the bridal party. Mike continued to chop the footage.. After the photo/video session we headed back to the ceremony to meet with Mike and captured the video session footage. Then we all left for the reception, that took place at Dynasty restaurant. The same day edit was scheduled for 8:30pm and was played using 3 projectors and 3 large screens to accommodate the 400 plus guest.

Anthony + Lindsay

I first met Anthony when he was a groomsmen at a wedding we shoot back in January.. Anthony and Lindsay had the opportunity to see us in action as we captured and produced a SDE for Leif and Kristine. I met with them a few days later and knew their wedding was going to be FUN.. I’ve said it once and I will say it again “I love what I do” and one reason being is because of our clients.. Hip, down to earth and just fun to be around!!

Jennie + Darwin SDE

Jennie and Darwin tied the knot at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose CA..

Normally we have two laptops converting on average about 15GB of DSLR preparation footage during the ceremony. Not having any power outlets, we ran our laptops pretty much to E then used a power inverter in our car to continue the process. After the ceremony we had a good amount of time with the bride and groom to get some cool shots around the garden and The History Park of San Jose..

Norcal to Socal…. Highlight and Feature

Joe and Joyce’s wedding was our first wedding in southern ca. Newport Beach to be exact.. One of the nicest looking reception/cocktail decor sites we have seen..

They had 2 ceremonies.. One standard american style and a persian ceremony.. As you will see from the highlight, edited back and forth between the too. We like to keep the viewer on their toes not knowing what to expect next, kind of like all the jokes the best man had during his speech.. The hardest roast I ever witnessed.. Good thing Joe has a good scenes humor!!! I only used a few of punch lines in these edits..

Melissa + Frankie SDE

The tissue was supposed to be for Melissa but Frankie showed that he wasn’t afraid to shed a tear..

Having only 4 hours after the ceremony until play time.. Minus 30 minutes of that drive time to the reception, 1.5 hours for converting. It left Mike 2 hours to cut. One of our fastest turn around SDE’s we’ve done.. . Having a solid team and everyone being on point.. We were able to make it happen with ease.. Good looking out to the crew!! Thanks for the hustle and everyone being on there toes the entire time..

Preparation – Hilton Santa Clara
Ceremony – Mission Santa Clara De Asis

Jen + Socheat Same Day Edit // San Jose*Blackhawk

When Jen emailed me the song for their SDE(Same Day Edit)a few days before the wedding.. I was instantly juiced/excited.. Having shot at the same hotel and church the week before I already envisioned a few establishing shots I had in mind..

I started off the morning at 9AM, grabbing a few broll shots of the exterior of the church and hotel. Then headed up to Jen’s hotel suite to capture her getting ready along with her army of 12 Bridesmaids, followed by Socheat and his football team groomsmen.. After everyone was ready they walked to the church only being one block from the Hotel..

Ceremony time.. Being that I shot at the same church a week prior I thought this was going to be cake. But being restricted by the coordinator we were quickly denied our main processional camera and access to move around.. Adding to that the priest stood the opposite way during the vows, that pretty much made me feel like this wasn’t going to be a good SDE.. After Mike put his magic editing touch, this is now my new favorite piece.. I think every new piece we do is my new favorite :)

Chevys Fresh Mex (Catch a Wave)

I’ve had a opportunity to be the director of photography (DP) for Justin Lomax of On-Point Productions a number of times this year, below is a video that he directed and produced.. A promo for Cheveys “Catch a Wave” If you haven’t had the chance to eat here, you should try to make it happen.. Great food!!!
